About the speaker:
Cliff has graduate degrees for MIT in Mechanical Engineering and in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He has over 30 years of experience in addressing the engineering needs of various offshore sectors including fisheries aquaculture, offshore renewables, and underwater instrumentation. As principal at C.A, Goudey & Associates, he led or collaborated on four ARPA-E Mariner projects related to macroalgae farming, harvesting, and transport. TendOcean™ LLC was formed to commercialize some of the innovations emerging from those projects and other key technologies to encourage the growth of this regenerative sector.
TendOcean™, LLC is a Massachusetts-based company formed in March 2021 to meet the growing needs of marine aquaculture and other regenerative ocean-related sectors.
The principles and practical aspects of using catenary modules for offshore seaweed farming will be explained. The value of bespoke solutions over the adaptation of technologies borrowed from other sectors will be examined.
