About the speaker:

Colin Hepburn BEng, MBA. Over 30 years of experience in the seaweed and natural polymers industry worldwide. Specifically, in seaweed, he has worked with all aspects of the value chain from seaweed to end-use customers in the UK, Ireland, Iceland, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Madagascar, China, Panama, and more recently the US.

Everything Seaweed (EvSe) is a startup based in Maine since June 2022. EvSe will be biorefining seaweeds from Maine and all over the world into a range of value-added products.

Presentation:

Maine seaweed aqua-culturists, like many around the world, would like to earn more for their effort and crop. Higher value for many seems out of reach and the current economics of farming seem out of step with the many commercial opportunities we hear about. Kelp-based nanofibers present an exciting opportunity to provide this value through a different approach where the farmers become investors in the company.
