Commodifying bio-based & biodegradable PHBV polymers to substitute plastic
Biotic manufactures fully bio-based, fully biodegradable PHBV (PHA) polymers as commodities, using marine biomass as feedstock for our precision fermentation process, targeting to replace fossil-based plastics, and eliminating recycling needs.
Presentation:
With a glance to the future, the new type of biorefineries we, at Biotic, are working on, will incorporate the vast majority of marine biomasses as feedstock to a circular process that will end up outputting valuable products such as: bio-plastics (PHBV), proteins, pigments, anti-oxidants, lipids, animal feed, bio stimulants and more.
This circular unique process breaks down fresh marine biomass into valuable components, that are further processed, as needed.
Our technologies enable localization, additional job opportunities, additional demand for biomass that is not food or cosmetic graded, enable the use of wastes from existing processes, use sea water, support the environment and is at high efficiencies.
